FREE EMT Class – This class is designed to support EMS agencies in rural areas of Adams, Cumberland, Dauphin, Franklin, Lancaster, Lebanon, Perry, and York counties in South Central PA. Please read all the information below before submitting your information.This class is focused on delivering educated EMT candidates from Adams, Cumberland, Dauphin, Franklin, Lancaster, Lebanon, Perry, and York counties to rural EMS agencies that need Emergency Medical Technicians.
This class is scheduled for 14 weeks and will start on January 9, 2023 with online work.
Like our previous classes, the majority of the didactic work is online. There are mandatory instructor-led discussions and lecture sessions via zoom, and the schedule will include optional review days. There will be 10 8 hour in-person skill sessions at a location in each county, allowing students to become familiar with the equipment found on an ambulance and master the skills necessary for them to function as competent EMTs.
Students must have reliable internet access and a laptop computer to complete this program. If a student doesn’t have a laptop computer, we have several available for loan. All students will receive access to all online course material, including an e-textbook and a voucher for the first attempt at the NREMT cognitive exam. This course includes a uniform shirt, clinical time, ASHI BLS for the EMS professional, HazMat awareness, and all required NIMS/ICS certifications. This is all free of charge to students and EMS agencies.
